Chewy Tubes® – safe training for biting and chewing
Chewy Tubes® are therapeutic chew tools developed to help stabilize the jaw and practice biting and chewing movements. They allow safe training of oral functions without risk of injury. Made from safe, non-toxic materials, Chewy Tubes® are a well-established tool in myofunctional therapy, speech therapy, oral rehabilitation and home practice.
Chewy Tubes® are also an important component of jaw rehabilitation programs. Exercises designed to improve bite strength, jaw stability and coordination can be performed with these tools without presenting actual food. This makes them particularly useful for structured therapy sessions as well as guided exercises at home.
The different versions mainly vary in the bite diameter. This allows a gradual increase in jaw resistance during therapy. Thinner versions are often used for beginners or specific exercises, while thicker versions provide more resistance and activate the chewing muscles more strongly. Textured versions can additionally provide sensory input to the lips, tongue and gums.
