This may vary by brand of thickener, but in general if you're using thickened liquids, "nectar" consistency works fine. "Honey" is a bit harder to suck through the straw, but it does work. Jaw grading is the ability to have controlled movements of the jaw to various jaw heights needed for speech and feeding skills. Your jaw has to open to different heights to accommodate those different sounds and foods. Simply fill the tube with soft foods, such as applesauce, yogurt, stage 1 baby foods, etc. Use the Bite Tube Tip to establish the concept of needing to bite and chew to eat food.
